Daily Gluttony – Thoughts and Development

Hellooooooooo friends!

Yes, it’s time for our weekly showcase of all the weird and random stuff I eat. BUT. I also thought I would vaguely notion towards what I’ve been working on lately.

It’s been about a year since I started this blog and I’ve learned a lot. Even though I took a five month hiatus when I moved in to my current abode, I still thought about my blog every day and what I should and could be doing with it. To me, there is something vital and almost sentient about this blog. Not that it’s alive or anything – what I mean is that my work that I’ve poured into the blog has created it’s own life that has morphed into an entity that has taken up a real space in my life. I’ve learned a lot and want to continue to learn! Cooking food, reading about food, eating food, and experiencing food in general is something that is imperative to me.

Anyways, things are in the works. I am plotting my next steps to bring further food enjoyment to you and to myself! I’ll be working closer with Nick Wilkins, who takes most of my pictures, and see what his innovation can bring to the aesthetic portion of my blog. I’ll announce any and all changes a little later on once I get them going but I thought I’d tease you mercilessly by hinting at them first.

Furthermore – I am and will be practicing more gratitude.

I am grateful for you, whoever you are. Thank you for stopping by. Thank you for reading my rambles. Thank you for sharing in equal enjoyment in this shameless parade of food porn.

Here’s what I’ve been eating this week:

SAMOSAS. Oh my god, these are ridiculously good. My mother found an Indian grocery store that makes them fresh and now I’m eating veggie samosas 24/7. Not complaining.

I had randomly decided to batter and bake little bits of sweet potato. I ate them with homemade Mexican rice, avocado, roasted mushrooms, salsa, and corn tortillas.

I’ve been eating six of these Maple Bourbon Glazed Apple Pie Biscuits at a time. No apologies.

GUYS. I have to tell you – the boyfriend and I went to an Italian restaurant and at first, it was a challenge to find something that I could actually eat. I was going to settle for spaghetti with marinara and mushrooms when the waitress suggested the plain Marsala pasta dish and let me add mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes! She even told the cooks to take out the chicken and beef stock for me! It was DELICIOUS. That waitress was so kind and not judgmental at all. I only just remembered to take a picture of the food when I had eaten most of it already. If you are in Apex, NC – check out Daniel’s Restaurant and Catering.

This has been my standard smoothie as of late – 1 cup of mixed frozen organic berries, 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder (I use Orgain), 1 banana, 1 1/2 cup almond milk. Yes, I transport and drink all of my smoothies from an old pasta sauce jar.

I was especially hungry this particular morning so here I have two slices of toasted Ezekiel cinnamon raisin bread with peanut butter and a mango. I was so hungry that I actually had a third slice of toast and peanut butter after this. I also managed to spill mango juice all over my shirt right before I took this picture.

For lunch one day, I had roasted cauliflower, half a baked sweet potato, greens, more Mexican rice, salsa, and hot sauce over everything!

Happy Eats!
